Vacationing in San Francisco This Summer?

I don't know if I have posted about this before or not. Back in the day, when I was in the U.S. Air Force I was stationed at the Presidio of Monterey attending the Defense Language Institute where I studied the Hebrew language and culture for a year. When we would get our breaks, myself and some of my buds used to love driving up to San Francisco and check out the sites. One of my favorite things to do was to drive down Lombard Street . If you haven't heard of Lombard Street - here's a picture:

We used to hang out at Fisherman's Wharf as well. This is quite a site to see! If you've never seen or heard a seal, hanging out at Fisherman's Wharf will give you quite an opportunity. Anyway, the point of this is to tell you guys about one of the wildest times I ever had in San Francisco. Being the stereotypical young military guys, we had spent an evening getting hammered at one of the local joints. As we were walking down one of the endless one-way streets we came across a bar titled "Mom's Country Kitchen." We saw some people playing pool, so we thought this was a great idea. I think we were there for about an hour or so before we realized we were the only guys playing pool - everyone else were women. Some of these women were kickin' our butts on the slate! In any case, next thing you know, there's an announcement that all the pool tables were shutting down for a "special treat." The women we were playing pool with were getting pretty upset and slamming their sticks down. When my bud asked one of them what was going on, she said "Some queer wants to dance." (Her words, not mine).

A Jermaine Stewart song - "We don't have to take our clothes off" came on and some skinny guy jumped up on the pool tables and started doing a strip tease. We looked around and saw that, again, we were the only guys in the entire bar, with the exception of the one dancing on the pool tables. We had apparently walked into a Lesbian Gay Bar. The funny part was, none of the women in the bar were even paying attention to the guy up on the pool tables. They just wanted him to hurry up and finish so they could get back to playing pool. We ordered another round, waited for the guy to finish up, then we joined the ladies back at the tables! This was probably one of my wildest, and definitely unforgettable, trips to San Francisco.

You know, if we had gone and hired a guide like Trusted Tours & Attractions we wouldn't have made that mistake. If you're looking for things to do in San Francisco just click the link. They offer sightseeing tours which would have been perfect! Since we were not very familiar with the city at that time, we would have known not to turn right when we turned left, and vice versa - but then again - we were hammered! LOL.

If you're in San Francisco, and if you're like us, and taking road trips, you're not very far from Las Vegas either (okay, distance is relative here). Trusted Tours & Attractions also has sightseeing tours there as well. Click here for Things to do in Las Vegas . When you're on their website, plan your trip for both cities. Also, if you sign up for their newsletter (follow the link) you will be entered for a chance to win a $150 itunes gift card.

Hopefully, your vacation may not be nearly as wild as mine was!
